It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Patricia A. Stewart on March 28, 2025 at the Charlotte County Hospital.
Born in Calais, Maine Patty was the daughter of the late John C. and Bernice L. Dougherty.
Patty attended Calais High School, graduating in 1982, before moving to Bangor to attend Husson University majoring in accounting. After returning to Calais, she pursued a career in journalism for the Bangor Daily News. Patty had the privilege of interviewing Stephen King while attending university.
After moving to St. Stephen, Patty met her soulmate Brett who she went on to marry in 1989. Patty and Brett spent the next 35 years building a life and family in Pleasant Ridge.
Patty's life became complete when she and Brett welcomed their daughter, Kim, in 1992. Patty wasn't just Kim's Mom, but her best friend throughout her whole life.
When her grandson, Gavin, was born in 2022, Patty became the happiest and proudest Nanny on Earth. Gavin reintroduced her to nursery rhymes and repeatedly asked her to sing Old MacDonald Had A Farm and Humpty Dumpty.
Patty is survived by her husband Brett, daughter Kim Shannon (Gary), grandson Gavin, sisters Pam Rogers (Vern) of Levant, Maine, Debbie Hill (Russ) of Calais, Maine, sister-in-law Myrna Kinney of Pleasant Ridge, many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Patty was predeceased by her brother Johnny Dougherty, father-in-law Lloyd Stewart and mother-in-law Vera Stewart.
Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting Patty enjoyed her infectious smile and loving personality.
Service will be held at a later date.
