William “Bill” E. Yardley

It is with profound sadness that the family announce the passing of William "Bill" Yardley, of Crocker Hill, N.B. on Friday October 18, 2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, New Brunswick.

Bill was born in St. Stephen, NB, the son of the late William and Pauline (Esty) Yardley. 

He was a graduate of St Stephen High School, class of 1960.  During his high school years, he worked at Nason and Yardley.  After graduation, he was enrolled to serve in the Royal Canadian Navy.  Before retirement he worked for over forty years at the Georgia Pacific Mill in Bailleyville, Maine.

Bill is survived by his loving wife; Mary Ann (Fischer) Yardley, children; William Yardley Jr (Cristen), Darryl Yardley, Darren Yardley (Shannon), Karen Yardley, Kevin Yardley (William Magnuson) and Steven Broschat (Melissa) and, twenty-one grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, sisters; Gertrude (Yardley) Higgins (John) and Pauline (Yardley) Devlin (Tim), several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Joan (Yardley) Denyer and the mother of his children, Janet (Hayward) Yardley.

Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, N.B. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 2 PM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday October 22, 2024, from 6-8 PM.
