After a brave and courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jill E. (Jackson) Mahar on Saturday July 20, 2024, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St Stephen, NB, with her devoted husband, Jeremy and mother and best friend, Elizabeth Ames (David) at her side.
Jill was born is 1982 in St. Stephen, NB, the only child of Elizabeth (Young) Ames and the late Allyn Jackson. Jill was also the proud and beautiful mother of Jackson, Elizabeth and Beatrice Mahar.
Jill graduated from St Stephen High School in 2000 and the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts with honours in 2004. While in school, she played volleyball, basketball and rugby.
Jill was a dedicated officer with the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) for many years and enjoyed her work along with the company of her fellow officers. She is also a past director of the Fundy Community Foundation.
Jill was a very involved mother, daughter and aunt, who was always at her children’s school activities, dance and piano classes, sporting events and other endeavours. Jill introduced Jeremy and their children to downhill skiing. She enjoyed their trips to Walt Disney World, kayaking and boating at her Aunt Gail’s home in Oak Bay, which she considered, "her happy place", being on the beach and venturing over to Spoon Island.
Jill will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting her, including the family cats, Balou and Cookie as well as the newest addition, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy named Minnie.
In addition to her devoted husband, Jeremy, her precious children, her mother Elizabeth (David), she is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Joyce Jackson, uncles, Darren Jackson (Katie) and Edward Young (Elva), aunt Gail Leachman, step siblings, John Ames (Holly) and Rachel Ames (Marquise Brisebois), close and dear cousin, Matthew Leachman (Sarah), in-laws, David and Eliza Mahar, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Funeral service will be held at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. on Thursday August 1, 2024, at 2 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday August 1, 2024, from 12 pm until 1:45 pm.

A very special "thank you" is extended to the generosity of family, friends and co-workers during Jill’s battle with cancer.
