It is with sadness the family of Phyllis M. Girard announce her passing at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B. on Sunday, December 24, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Phyllis (No rocking chair Granny!!) was born 1932, daughter of the late Leo and Thelma Hansen (stepfather Earl Turner).
Phyllis was a member of the Valley Gospel Singers for many, many years and was very proud of the work they did to raise money for special causes through their singing. She loved God and told almost everyone she met about Him.
Phyllis truly enjoyed and loved her family with every ounce of her being. Her heart was wide open as she never stopped letting us all know how much she loved us. Phyllis had a heart for helping people in any way she possibly could and took every opportunity to do so. She was loved beyond measure by all of us and she always will be.
She is survived by her sisters: Annie Marie Mayer (Winfried), Bonnie Drier (Billy), children: Chris Richardson (Bill), Kenny Montgomery (Sharron), Kathy Madsen and Heather Polk , stepdaughter, Suzanne Hooper, grandchildren: Tracey Furlotte (Darren), Kelly Richardson, Lisa Parker (Ed), Chris Madsen (Kristy), Billy Richardson (Tanya), Neisha Richardson, Melissa Montgomery (Rob), Sherri Richardson, Sally Richardson (Walter), Lisa Richardson, Wayne Polk (Christy), Michael Polk and Danielle Mannix , great-grandchildren: Cameron, Jackson, Trista, Christian, William, Caleb, Miley, Bailey, Cassidy, Courtney, Jack, Jared, Emily, Harper, Remy and Xander, great great-grandchildren: Parker, Adeline, Isabelle, and Baby Colter arriving in May. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was predeceased by her husband, Louie Girard, granddaughter, Elizabeth Montgomery, grandson, Jordan Stewart, sister, Audrey Hansen, and brother, Joseph Augustine.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. from where the funeral service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 2 PM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 6-8 PM and Friday from 1 PM until service time.
Interment at Oak Bay Cemetery, Oak Bay, N.B.
