Patricia “Pat” Smith

Patricia "Pat" Smith, 87, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at Life Path Hospice Care in Tampa, Florida.

Patricia was born in Calgary, Alberta, daughter of the late Victor and Marjory Pryce.

Pat was a devoted wife, mother, caregiver for her parents and anyone else who needed her. Pat’s early career was at Maritime Geophysical of Calgary where she met her future sister-in-law, Marilyn Smith, Charlie’s sister. Her next job was in the administration offices at the University of Oklahoma where Charlie was enrolled in the Engineering School.

After the children were in high school, Pat went back to work in the administration office of The Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary from where she retired in 1995. A few years later Pat and Charlie retired to Florida but returned to Calgary and the Smith farm on Pomeroy Ridge every summer.

Pat is survived by her husband, Charles Smith of Valrico, Florida, formerly a native of Pomeroy Ridge, NB.; son, Richard Smith (Frances) of Calgary, AB., and her daughter, Lesley Smith (Kirk Anderson) of Calgary, AB., sister-in-law, Marilyn (Smith) Henderson of North Reading, MA., nephew, Ross (Chris) Henderson of Auburn, MA., and niece, Patricia Fillio of Newton, NH.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her cousins, Doug Pryce of Vanciuver, BC. and Vern Miller of California.

Cremation will take place in Florida. Interment will take place at a later date in the Pomeroy Ridge Cemetery beside her parents.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital and the Melech Hospice House (Life Path) for their kindness, care and compassion. To all our family, friends and neighbors, we thank you for all your support and kindness.
