Alba V. Haley
1920 - 2022
Alba V. (Russell) Haley, wife of the late Ralph Haley, and daughter of the late Guy and Bessie (Cann) Russell, passed away on Saturday, April 16th at the age of 101. Alba passed very peacefully at Lincourt Manor with family by her side.
Mom’s main goal in life was looking after her family, and she was always there when we needed her. While mom worked at various places in St. Stephen, her main place of work was Carman’s Diner, which she also considered as family. After retiring as a waitress, she baked pies and donuts for the diner for many years.
Mom was a member of Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters and the Kirk McColl United Church. Mom had great faith in prayer which gave her great comfort.
Mom is survived by six children, daughter Donna (Stu) Mowry, sons Floyd (Lorna), Larry (Teri), Steve (Anita), Eric (Christine), Peter (Karla) and daughter-in-law Judy Haley; as well as fifteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alba was predeceased by brothers Wendell (in infancy) and Layton Russell, sisters Pauline Gullison and Rosalie Jackson, and son Albert Haley.
The family will receive friends at The S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St Stephen, NB. on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022 from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held at the Kirk McColl United Church, 70 King Street, St Stephen, NB. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 2 PM For those unable to attend in person, livestream link: https://www.facebook.com/kirkmccoll
Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery, St. Stephen, NB.
