SEWELL-at Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, NB, surrounded by her family, January 29, 2009, Muriel Mae Sewell, widow of Russell Gordon Sewell. Formerly of St. Stephen, NB. Born April 8, 1923, in Bull Lake, NB. She was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Margaret (McMinn) Lawson. She moved to St. Stephen in 1945 upon her marriage to Russell Sewell. In later years she moved to Mayfield, NB before going to Loch Lomond Villa in Saint John to be near her family. She was a member of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Life Member Ladies Auxiliary St. Croix Branch No. 9, St. Stephen and 50 year Member of Queen Mary Chapter No. 4 OES.She is survived by her only child, Keith and his wife Alvina, Saint John, NB, her favorite grandchildren; April Sewell of Halifax, NS and Keith Sewell Jr. of Victoria, B.C., brothers; LaFay Lawson (Ada), Woodstock, NB and Robin Lawson (Joan), Bull Lake, NB, sister; Fern Turner, Burlington, ON., many nieces and nephews.Predeceased by her husband, brother; George Lawson and sister; Alice Scott.Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB from where funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at 3 PM.Interment at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery at a later date.A Legion Auxiliary Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday evening, January 31, 2009 at 7 PM followed by a Queen Mary Chapter OES Service at 7:30 PMVisiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the St Croix Vocational Center or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
