Joseph John Hunt1947 - 2008On May 31, 2008, Joseph John Hunt, son of the late Luella Grace(Rumney) and Charles Thomas Hunt, Joe is survived by his wife, Edna; two sons, Jason(Fredericton) and Jesse(Calgary); three stepdaughters, Mary(Boston), Nancy(Dartmouth) and Penny(Truro); four step-grandchildren, Kelsey, Julie, Jonathan and Alexis; sister Judy Fowler(Ottawa); brothers, Gerry(Toronto) and Jim(Bancroft) as well as several nieces and nephews.Full of hope and a positive attitude, Joe’s faith deepened as his battle with lung cancer progressed. After a four year struggle with his cancer, Joe passed away at home in the loving arms of his wife, Edna.Joe enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and “jigging” in his workshop. One of his favourite past times was working around the house with his wife. Visits with his sons and step family always gave him great pleasure. Traveling to Ontario to visit his family were events he looked forward to several times a year. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career with St. Marks #5 Masonic Lodge of St. Andrews. With over 37 years of employment at the Biological Station, as a Marine Biologist, his relationships with colleagues became like an extended family. Joe changed his outlook and attitudes on life through the teachings of the AA program. As an active member, he made many close friends and through his experience, strength and hope he helped others in the program.Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB from where the Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 1 PMInterment at St. John’s Chapel of Ease Chamcook Cemetery.Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday from 11 AM to 1 PM.
