Sylvanus Wilmot Noble

1918 - 2007

Sylvanus passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, N.B. with family by his side, May 19, 2007. Born in Fredericton Junction, N.B. he was the only child of Clyde and Blanche (Webb) Noble.He lived and worked his early years in the Fredericton Junction area, later moving to St. Stephen to work at NB Power for 35 years. After his retirement he returned to work with NB Power as an instructor for their engineering department. Sylvanus was a gifted gardener and delighted audiences with his step dancing and fiddling. He was a long standing member of the Tracy Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Jean (Christie), daughters Darlene Anderson (Clarence) and Terry Sherlock (Stephen), grandchildren, Holly Nason (Tony), Jean Anderson, Janna Sherlock, Wade Kelly (Tina), Jason Anderson (Cheyanne), Jory and Kory Nason, Justin and Aaron Sherlock, several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 daughters, Carolyn Munn and Jean Christie.Resting at The S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B. from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 2PM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 21, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9PM. In lieu of flowers remembrances to the charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.Sylvanus was a friend to all, deeply loved and he will be sadly missed.
