MASON – La Mar Carlos Mason lost his battle with liver cancer while undergoing transplant surgery in Halifax, NS on July 3, 2019.

La Mar came to St. Stephen as an Executive Chef for the St. Stephen Wandlyn Inn and then became a bus driver in the local school district for nine years.

Born December 8, 1954 in Limestone, Maine, son of Viola (Eatman) Doubledee of Fredericton, NB and the late Ike C. Mason II.

He is survived by his wife, Roseanne Kinney, son, La Mar Mason Jr. (Michelle), daughter, Shalina Mason, son, Wyatt Paige (Leah) of Massachusetts and daughter, Wendy Paige (Taylor) of Massachusetts, sister, Cathy Washington, brother, Ike C. Mason III, fourteen wonderful grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

La Mar was predeceased by his sister, Gloria Mason.

A celebration of La Mar’s life will held from the Gateway Cathedral, 18 West St., St. Stephen, NB on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gord Walsh officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening from 6 – 8 PM.
