Hattie Freda (Lennon) Neilson, widow of Eugene Neilson, passed away suddenly at Passamaquoddy Lodge in St Andrews, NB on December 23, 2017. Hattie was born in Victoria County on June 23, 1930. She was a long-time resident of Weston, and nursed at Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock until her retirement. In recent years she had made her home in St Andrews.

Our beloved mother leaves to mourn Barbara (Carl Fiander), St Andrews, Lorna (Jim MacFarlane) St Andrews, Dean (Brenda) Waweig, Danna (Lorraine,) St David Ridge and Darlene Neilson, Airdrie AB. She will be greatly missed as well by her grandchildren, Billie-Jo, Dennis, Angela, Corey, Laura, Tim, Nikki, Lisa, Christopher, Michael, Nicholas, Jason, Stacey and Alex, as well as numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister Alma Demerchant, Upper Kent, and her brother Warren (Ted) Lennon, Saint John.

Hattie was predeceased by her husband Eugene, son Conrad and infant grandson Joseph, and her sister Louaina and her brothers, Fred and Alex.

Hattie had the "gift of gab" and enjoyed chatting with everyone she met. A lifelong animal lover, she always had many animal friends, including cats, dogs, horses, chickens, and all wild animals as well. She leaves behind her most recent canine companion, Spot.

Funeral service will be held at The S. O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 2 PM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 7-9 PM.

Interment in New Denmark will follow at a later date.
